January 11, 2012 - Petal Pushers Workshop

Please join Nova as she instructs us in making a perfect little crib quilt.  45 inches square with the appearance of dimensional applique, but actually made with a piecing technique.  Nova uses a pattern created by Ruth Jensen for the basic design of this quilt, but she has revamped the piecing technique with her characteristic style of simplifying methods.

A kit for this workshop will be available from the instructor and will include the book, thermolam and photocopies needed to make the quilt.

February 2012 Workshop - FREE RANGE PIECING

Karen Cunagin teaches color and design in the fiber arts.  The themes in her art revolve around the intimate world of family, the garden and spiritual work.

Though most of her textile compositions are machine sewn, she spends hours hand finishing many pieces with stitch, sequins, yo-yos…….

Cunagin challenges her fellow fiber artists to take little risks in making beautiful work that can lead to important life decisions.

FREE RANGE PIECING is Karen’s take on all the fun and relaxation that comes with innovative placement of fabrics.  February’s workshop is an exercise in free thinking to create any small project: a table mat, runner, wall hanging, or pillow top.  Bring all your scraps to our February workshop and experience growth in all your quilting skills.

March 2012 Workshop - FROM CLOSET QUILTER TO PORTRAIT ARTIST

Behind every face there is a life story.  Born and raised in Hungary, Aniko Feher loved to draw people and their faces.  She discovered quilting when she came to the United States and was immediately attracted to the use of color and to the softness.
Self taught, she creates portraits quilts that capture the whole person.

In our March workshop, Aniko will teach you how to put together a raw edge applique portrait quilt with a ready made pattern already provided in a kit.
