CQA Community Quilts Project Home of the Brave Many Minis Silent Auction CQA Community Quilts Project
Comfort Givers, one of the small groups within Camarillo Quilters Association, is the leader of our extensive Community Quilts Project. This group prepares quilt kits for members to make as well as kits for pillow cases and burp cloths. These kits are available at our monthly Association meetings. Come and visit our display to learn more about how we help the community. HOME OF THE BRAVE QUILT PROJECT
Our Home of the Brave Project is a wonderful nationwide program that donates quilts
to the families of our fallen heroes in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Camarillo Quilters has provided many quilts for the state of California’s
military families in recognition of their sacrifice. This display will have examples of the quilts that are made by our members for distribution.
The pattern that is used is a replica of a military quilt used during the Civil War.
The history of the quilts created at this time is fascinating
and there will be members of this group available to answer questions. There will also be a display of the photos of the young men and women whose families have received quilts.
Remember to stop by and hear how the program began and a little Civil War history at the same time.
