Welcome to Camarillo Quilters Association

Camarillo Quilters Association is a nonprofit organization with the specific purpose to exchange ideas about quilting, learn new techniques, and improve quilting skills. It is also our aim to inform the community about the history and preservation of quilts.

The Guild meets the second Tuesday of every month at 9:30 a.m., except August, at Serra Center , 5205 Upland Road
Camarillo CA 93012.

Special meetings are held several times a year. May is the annual business meeting, June is our Installation of new Officers, and December is the annual Holiday party. Please join us and explore the world of quilting!

BOARD MEETINGS

Board meetings are open to all CQA members.

If you have any special concerns regarding CQA business, please feel free to contact any Board member or attend the Board meeting yourself. Meeting dates and times are published in our monthly newsletter.

MEMBERSHIP DUES

Annual dues are $25.00 and include a subscription to the newsletter. Guest donation is $5.00 per meeting. Our fiscal year runs from June 1st through May 31st. Dues are payable by June 1st and are delinquent at the end of the July General Meeting.

Library

We have an extensive library of quilting books, videos, and reference materials. Members only are allowed to check out two books only each month. The books should be returned the following month. They may be renewed for an additional month either in person or by phone call to a librarian.

To check out a library book, fill out the card found in the pocket on the inside cover of the book. Include your name, phone number, and date. Give this card to the librarian. When returning the book, place the book in the 'book return' basket. If a book is lost, the member is responsible for paying for a replacement.

Community Quilts

Members work together to create quilts to warm the hearts and lives of several charitable groups. These groups include

  • R.A.I.N., helping homeless families in transitional housing;
  • New Start for Moms, using our quilts as a motivation and reward for graduation from their parenting skills program;
  • Habitat for Humanity;
  • Life Centers of Ventura County;
  • Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit;
  • convalescent homes;
  • and other organizations of equal merit that serve the needs of local people

Block of the Month

Patterns for Block of the Month will be published in each newsletter. Each member who makes a block is eligible to participate in a drawing to win all of the blocks submitted. Your name is entered in the drawing for each block you submit. The winning name is drawn during the monthly meeting.
